I understand the pain chess can cause.

Actually, was the patient, by chance, deaf or hard of hearing? I ask only because my son is deaf and that is something he'd write.

This reminds me of the time my patient wrote on his H&P form that he had his "vowel replaced"....I'm quite sure he meant valve
