I'm surveying our kitchen table. At 1:00 it was clean, having been wiped down after lunch.
When I wandered into the kitchen at 2:00, it was covered with a bizarre mixture of crayons, ink markers, scissors, tape, and green colored papers, all heavily smeared with pancake syrup.
"Dad, we were busy."
"Doing what?"
"Making St. Patrick's day cards for our friends."
"Why is there pancake syrup everywhere?"
"Because I forgot where the glue was, and thought we could use that instead."

Mr. Seizure-"Um,yeah,I mean,I was, uh,riding and, um looking for an empty bike rack"
Great Stuff!!!
Can't argue with that logic LOL
Enterprising... But oh so terribly wrong.
haha, well at least he's being creative! :) ....kids!!
Oh god, I feel your pain.
My dogs make may a mess of things in the house, but at least they can't get the syrup out of the refrigerator to add to the fun!
Whatever you do, don't eat the pancakes.
Hahhhaaaa. Whatta messs.
Creativity 1: Stickiness 1
Your son is a genius. Seriously. Who would have thought of using syrup?
I can't stop laughing at this one. It's going to smell like Waffle House in there for awhile.
I love Kid Logic. It makes perfect sense... if you are a kid. Frank is very clever for thinking of the syrup. He is right; it does stick stuff together.
I have had to use "other" products when I couldn't find the glue. May I suggest Flour Paste? Mix a couple of teaspoons of flour and just enough water to make a thick paste. It will stick stuff together and doesn't attract ants.
Well, it's sticky, isn't it? :) So who ended up cleaning up the mess, you or Frank?
Long time ago, when I was about 14 years old, my younger brother who was 4 years old was into trains big time. Our next door neighbor also had a little boy about his age who was into trains. That was back in the days when kids could go outside and play without fear of being kidnapped. My brother and the neighbor's kid took their toy trains outside and walked about a mile and a half (maybe 2) to a real train track and were playing trains on the REAL train track. OY! Anyway, a police car happened to drive by and saw two little boys sitting in the middle of a train track. He put them in the car but they apparently realized that they were in "trouble" so they wouldn't tell the cop who they were or where they lived. He was able to get them to tell him where they lived by promising to turn on the siren.
Oh what a commotion that was when the cop showed up at our house.
We lived in a tiny town back east where kids would just go out and play so my brother not being around was no big deal back then. My mother probably thought he was next door and the next door neighbor probably thought her son was at our house.
