More hairs fall out

Dr. Grumpy: "Is the new medication helping? Any side effects?"

Mrs. Dimwit: "No, the headaches are the same, but I haven't noticed any side effects."

Dr. Grumpy: "And let me check... You should be up to 2 pills, three times a day?"

Mrs. Dimwit: "No, I take 1 pill, once a day."

Dr. Grumpy: "Why didn't you increase the dose? I wrote out a schedule for you to do that."

Mrs. Dimwit: "I didn't think it would help, so I didn't bother."

So why do these people continue to see a doctor if they're not going to follow medical advice?

Hey, on average, this guy and the guy from two posts ago both take their medicine when they're supposed to. So what's the problem?

Right, cuz you have gone through this much training to have a patient do something that won't work!!

There was a drink (some kind of strong beer or scotch) that failed to find a market.. After some research, it was found people weren't buying it because they didn't like it, even though they'd never tried it before. So that became their slogan: "I didn't try it because I didn't like it".

Same with pancake mix - when it first came out in the 50's, people just didn't trust everything was there in the mix. So the manufacturer took out the dried milk and eggs, (meaning you had to add them yourself); the mix then sold much better.

As a patient with chronic headaches, if Dr G. can prescribe meds without going through a trial and error period, I have get him to be my neurologist.

With some of the adverse effects of headache meds, a lot of headache patients are just scared to try some new.

Shit like that is part of what drove me away from daily patient care.

Well, I don't think seeing you again will help, so let's not bother.

Nice to see the other side of patient medication interaction. I love when they tell me, "I'm not sure why the doctor wrote this for me?" Me-"Well, why did you go to the doctor". Them- "Um, well, I was sick."
