Scintillating conversation

Tonight Mrs. Grumpy and I were sitting on a bench at a local park, listening to a band. A group of teenagers went by, and we heard this discussion:

Dude A: "So like, you go to North High?"

Dude B: "Yeah."

Dude A: "I go to Central. What's it like at North?"

Dude B: "We have, like, students and teachers and stuff. Classes, too."

Dude A: "That's cool."

It won't be long until you see them again..............in your office. I can only imagine that conversation. LOL!

Sounds like a nice evening though.

For some reason this post made me think of this Louis CK clip.

I think it is because you could extrapolate the age he's talking about to 18 instead of 5.

If you haven't seen his stuff I think it'd be up your alley. His piece "Why" is 10 minutes well spent. Heh.

ROFL

My kids are teeny, but when they get to be teen-agers, if they are that vapid, I'm giving them away.

Just think, these huckfeads will soon be considered adults and their vote will count as much as yours and mine.

Mike Judge would be so proud!

I would like to think you merely encountered a couple of mutton-heads (we had plenty of mutton-heads back in the day when I went to high school, but we also had motivated, type-A, AP class taking students as well)...what you saw and overheard was not representative of ALL of today's youth (I sincerely hope)!

@Cynic: thankfully (or not, depending on your pov and the particular young'un in question), the enfranchised young are the demographic that is least likely to go to the polls and vote.

It's them damn senior citizens and crazed, fired-up extremists of any political stripe that you've got to watch out for! Those are the ones who vote.

No, they are not in any way, shape or form representative of the majority of today's youth (speaking as one).

Unfortunately, they are representative of a dangerously large minority.
