Having read the most recent Happy ordeal on Nurse K, he was fine with discussing his prognoisis over lunch (but was he ever billed for this 'office time'?), but did not want to see the PA in the office. Maybe Happy is really a gullible, ignorant woman? I see some parallels......
Even in Portland? I thought everything in Portland happened in coffee shops. What I don't understand is why he would go to the trouble of conning someone out of cash if he was just going to pay for stuff with bad checks anyway.
But wouldn't it be nice if we could do them at a coffee shop? You know, mix up the workplace scenery a little, but not so much that you're doing home visits in the ghetto.
Reading this brought questions to mind: Why would you trust a guy in scrubs wearing a VEST that has the acronym of the hospital? I have never seen any MD wear a vest unless it is over a button down shirt. Secondly, meeting in a coffee shop didn't seem "off"? MD's have offices you moron! Based on the mugshot, I can tell he is too young to be a surgeon! (I look pretty young for my age so I would understand if someone questioned me, but he looks his age) WARNING! WARNING! Why is it that it is typically women who are duped? It makes the rest of us look dumb too!
if you read the comments to the original story, he used to pretend to have careers in real estate and computer repair....weird. Reminds me of the custody case a few years ago where this guy who told everyone his name was Rockafeller, convinced everyone he was an heir, married, had a daughter, etc. He was from Germany and just made everything up...for years.
This blog is entirely for entertainment purposes. All posts about patients, or my everyday life, or anything else may be fictional, or be my experience, or were submitted by a reader, or any combination of the above. Factual statements may or may not be accurate. I could be making all this up. I may not even be a doctor. The only true statement on here is that I probably drink more Diet Coke than you do. A lot more.

since he told the lady to stop her pain and anxiety meds i wonder if he asked her to give them to him for "safekeeping"
Duh! Everyone know you find a good doc at a Diet Coke factory.
kinda like a hospitalist. just a hospitality-ist.
"Newman said a hospital physician typically would not conduct a medical consultation in a public space."
Sometimes I'm just stunned by the magnitude of the stupid.

Combine your last few posts and you'll see that pretending to be a doctor is not uncommon at all...
Best consults are probably at the golf club bar?
She knew he was a genius since he was a doctor at age 21. Who wouldn't follow his advice?
Let me guess...
He was an astronaut at the local bar during his off hours?
Stop your anti anxiety meds and here have a grande expresso mochachino on me.

So...you're saying that the guy who offers to give breast exams and Pap smears in the back of a windowless van is NOT a good choice of physician?
Shit.

Sounds like a wannabe Frank Abagnale.
