It's not artisanal...

But I really don't understand how a tomato can be a "Limited Edition" item.

Thank you, Cal!

The grower did not use pesticides, so instead stationed a worker next to every tomato plant to pick off bugs and wipe off mold 24/7. Thus, there were very few perfect ones as his budget for workers was small. Cause that's a damn perfect tomato! At least, that's my best guess.

Genetic modifications and/or engineering.

Or it's actually made of Legos.

If that's an organic tomato, I'm a Saturn V rocket. That's a perfect ethylene red.

It's the brand name. Like "World Famous San Diego Zoo" is their full name.

There is the slightest of slight chances that this is a seasonal crop only available once a year or so. Crazy theory I know.

It's not artisanal?
I feel sad.

"Limited Edition?" Everything in the world is Limited Edition.

Well, once you eat it it's gone, therefore, limited!

It's actually the sticker that's a limited edition.

Apparently, Mexico is running out of Roma tomatoes.

The tomato is not artisinal.

The label is not artisinal.

But, the label was printed on a machine which certainly was artisinal, maintained by dedicated craftsmen practicing the mechanical arts.

Either that label is huge, or the tomato is grape-sized.

It's a 12-cylinder luxury sports car that folds into the shape of a tomato.

It's a special variety of tomato that was developed by the producers of the "Spider-Man" Broadway musical. You can buy them in the theater lobby to throw at the actors.

Mexico and organic in the same sentence? Isnt that an oxymoron?

Authorities suspect alcohol was involved.

Hope you didn't pay extra to get that 'organic' tomato from Mexico. I'd be a bit wary of anything they claim is organic.

you know, Grumpy, if you really think about it, we are ALL "limited editions"....
ashes to ashes..dust to dust..

Definitely limited edition...the plant can make only so many tomatos before it dies.

Anonymous said...

Yes. Definitely. But, how does it taste?

I had an Artisinal apple the other day. I'll try to get a picture.

Limited edition...we only grow 40 million of them a year.
