Was the patient sent to you for jaw pain?
*snicker*
As a medical transcriptionist, I cringe when I see these EMR entries. WTF? Oral and oral? Um...p.o. perhaps? It doesn't even specify the dosage or frequency!
So, am I to assume that this patient takes oral meds??
Perhaps this is computer-talk for "takes by mouth twice daily?"
I think I have "Allegra Oral and Oral" on DVD.
EMRs are always programmed by people who know nothing about medicine. It's totally counterintuitive. I ended up basically having to re-program the one at my last job because it never printed what the surgeons wanted it to say. If I saw this, though, it'd be way too tempting to program it to say Oral and Anal. ;-)
Nystatin oral and oral? Forgive me if i am mistaken, but isn't that a "swish and swallow" med? (Or mouthwash type med?) And you take it........orally? Opposed to rectally? *scratching head*
Wow...there's a whole lotta oral going on in that office....
I read "oral" so many times in that entry that I think I need to take a shower. Don't ask.
This is obviously the medication list for Zaphod Beeblebrox.
re: MomNurseWife ... i can't resist: the programmer must have an oral fixation. ;-P
What if it said "anal and oral"? Just curious...
Where can -i- get a perscription for that much oral?
If she's got candida, then take her off the ruddy Pill!
