Strange things to find in the playroom, part 2

(for Part 1, click here)

Last night the boys borrowed Marie's Cinderella castle set, but told her they didn't need the dolls.

An hour later I wandered by and noticed this.

I LOVE the ways boy play with girl toys. AND I love those dinosaurs! When I was a little girl my brothers tied all my dolls to the washpole (stake) and unfortunately, scalped them. sigh... it was the 60's.. and cowboys and indians were all the rage..

Up top...on the wall...is that an african swallow, or a european swallow ?

Mel- I think it's an Asian pteradactyl.

It's not carrying a coconut, either.

Hey, You said...

Just wait until the boys are a little older. Then you will have dinosaur porn.

HAHAHAHA--wow. I especially like the perched pterodactyl. Very creative.

Seeing things like that is a point in favor of having children (there are still about 2774 reasons against in my world right now).

Is it sad that my husband does this kind of thing with my children's toys?

Oh no - where is Beast to save Belle from the dinosaurs? And he thought Gaston was a tough adversary :)

I use to do things like this with my sisters dolls all the time. I would also have lego army men trapped in the castle riding hot wheels. And yes, I was a severe tom-boy. :-)

I had a husband who used to string up my childhood teddy bear on a noose and tie it to a ceiling fan, complete with a suicide note, to torment me. Needless to say, I'm no longer married to him.s

Similar imaginary fun happens in our house, where the Bratz, the x-men, and the transformers jointly hang out on the Barbie plane. (All these toys belong to my 11yo son.) In general, the toys are inventing new things - most recently, a light bulb taped to a battery, to light up the inside of the plane.

I love the set-up on the castle, but I'm feeling a little sorry for... is that Kanga, there, on the landing?

Yes, Lesley, it is Kanga. And it and the duck were eaten by dinosaurs a few minutes after I took the picture.

Hey, just because you're an extinct reptile doesn't mean you can't live in your own castle!
