Reminds me of the patient who told the ER Doc his main complaint was 'being really dizzy'. The knowing EP asked what had happened just before the spell of dizzyness: 'I was turning around in circles really fast', replied the pt.
dear lord, reminds me of the patient that came in for altered mental status. Come to find out it was his anti-psychotic medication making him this way. The family didn't want to discontinue the med. So he went home with altered mental status...sheesh
DO NOT SEND THIS PT TO MY OFFICE, I REPEAT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND HIM TO US... This is up there with "I dont like the last ophthalmologist I saw, my vision is still all blurry" "Do the glasses make your vision worse or better?" "Worlds better, I just don't like to wear them, they make me look old"
I hope they teach us how NOT to laugh at our patients in med school, because there is no way i would refrain myself from laughing in these situations. Either that or I'll be asking if I'm being Punk'd.
This blog is entirely for entertainment purposes. All posts about patients, or my everyday life, or anything else may be fictional, or be my experience, or were submitted by a reader, or any combination of the above. Factual statements may or may not be accurate. I could be making all this up. I may not even be a doctor. The only true statement on here is that I probably drink more Diet Coke than you do. A lot more.

Okay.I'm crying and not because the old man's glasses broke!
Short trip, eh Doc?
And it took a neurologist to tell him that??!! Who referred him to you -- they never thought to ask?
Reminds of that old "Three Stooges" routine:
Curly: I can't see, I can't see.
Larry: How come?
Curly: I got my eyes closed.
ib, i hope you laughed, or the actually witty joke opportunity to bond was lost.

@ anonymous: not easy not to laugh but with time you earn a lot of self-control....
