VICTORVILLE, Calif. - Brawling parents interrupted a Southern California kindergarten graduation ceremony.
School officials placed Puesta del Sol Elementary in desert Victorville on lockdown Wednesday morning after a fight broke out among a group of parents.
San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Karen Hunt says witnesses told deputies several mothers were involved in a verbal argument and it got physical in a field near the ceremony. Several men then jumped into the fray and the incident turned into a brawl.

They were probably just doing the motherhood oneupmanship thing and it got out of control.
Guess those parents never learned about playing nice. Perhaps send them all back to kindergarten?
All I can tell you is that I've been to Victorville, this comes as no surprise.
life is hard in the mojave.
Now I have the Frank Zappa song "San Ber'dino" stuck in my head. But this made me think of what happens when they grow up and have children.
They have graduations for kindergartners over there? How cute!
Miss Yellow, it's getting to where they will soon have cap and gown ceremonies after recess and visits to the potty.
Kindergarten graduation? That's even more pathetic than middle-school graduation. What's next? Caps and gowns in the OB unit?
Kindergarden graduation ceremonies are understandable in context. In certain Chicago neighborhoods, some kids don't make it to 8th grade graduation (elementary schools are K-8).
My nephew's kindergarten (overpriced private school paid for by my sister-in-laws parents) provided one free ticket to the graduation and charged $10 a piece for the rest. Seriously???
Call Judge Judy.
