Bad drug rep mornings

A drug rep I like came in this morning with a tray of muffins. I went up to say "hi" and sign for samples. Mary was chatting with her.

Mary: "Did you get contacts?"

Cindy Pharma: "No. My kids broke my glasses over the weekend, and I can't find my spare pair. I have to order new glasses today. I can see fine for driving, but can't read at all."

Annie: "Well, thank you for the muffins."

Cindy Pharma: "You're welcome. You guys enjoy them. I swung by Costco and got some of their chocolate muffins, I figured you guys could use some chocolate to start the week."

Cindy left, and we took the muffins back to the break room. Mary took a big bite, and almost choked.

Cindy was right. She can't read without her glasses at all. They were bran.

I wonder if she can read her speedometer?

I wonder if she knows what/how many samples she left ?

I'm a little worried about Mary's eye's too. Bran muffins do not look like chocolate.

Drug reps bringing in food and other treats... I know it's everywhere but it's pretty damn slimy, nice people or not. -MC

I've superglued my glasses back together before (plastic frames; I refuse to buy metal ones). I question her statement that she's "fine for driving"--if you can't read the label on the muffin container, you're not going to be able to read traffic signs until you're too close for it to do any good. I'm betting Cindy's not a very good driver on her best day.

Sabra,

She may be farsighted. I also could drive without glasses but couldn't read without them. It's also very hard to explain farsightedness to people who aren't... If you are are 20/20 or are corrected to 20/20 with contacts, try on the glasses of someone who is nearsighted **but does not have astigmatism**. Those glasses should then give you the flavor (to mix metaphors).

If people bringing in treats are slimy, my company's got slimy coworkers, slimy clients, slimy vendors and slimy suppliers. Damn it, slime everywhere! i'm covered in slime!

Suppliers and vendors are really no different in position than drug raps. They want your business... those slimy slimy suckers and their delicious slimy treats.... mmm.. treats.

The next slimy person that brings me goo-be-gone gets my business.

I want some costco muffins. Not bran though.. blecch!

Next time send her back to Costco. They have reading glasses, 3 for $18.95. I just got my second set last night:) They are almost disposable (for those of us who forget a lot & lose them.)

Was this rep pushing some new diabetic med?

I love the irony of when Janumet/Actos/Whatever come in with a boatload of overly sweet pastries.

I'm waiting for the Coreg CR rep to come in with a truckload of Red Bull.
