Last night I was watching a live CME presentation online. The discussion was about ways to measure stroke recovery by using a hand-grip dynamometer.
At one point the speaker said:
"The affected arm will be tested using a grip dynamometer for hand-jobs. Uh, I mean hand strength."
This led to a brief delay while the online panel composed themselves.

Perhaps the ability to use performing handjobs as a rehab exercise might encourage a more vigorous participation in one's own or significant other's rehab efforts and a dynamometer would not be needed to measure the results.

They do say rehab is supposed to address functional needs, not just isolated skills.
and all the docs who were multitasking while 'attending' the video CME wondered what they just missed!
"Don't let a stroke interfere with your stroke."
I can't wait to see the one about using a spirometer.
