Proving once again that using 'spell check' does not confer 'smarts'.

No credit? No problem! Bad credit? No problem! Not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're?" No problem!

This is to ensure that grammar nerds return the car!

It's the bumper's fault, obviously, being just two characters too small.
But, they'd have room for the apostrophe and E if they didn't have the extra exclamation marks...

Hey, Grumpy! You got "it's" right! I'm proud of you!

I work in graphic design, and constantly scan printed material/advertising to see what got screwed up grammatically... used to be just occasional sightings on small family-run restaurant menus. Now it's on billboards, national advertising, television.

My pet-peeve is the abuse of the apostrophe - "car's" when they mean "cars." OMG people! Basic punctuation and grammar are taught in GRADE SCHOOL!

Are people getting dumber, or do they just really not care any more?

Laura said...

@LaLa They just don't care anymore. So often when I point out people's mistakes, they say "Why does it matter? You understood my point."

... Except now sometimes it takes 5 minutes to understand the point instead of just reading and knowing. Ugh...

Punctuation saves lives:
