Mary, there are several things other than Power Point that will "run" a Power Point slide show.
Plus current version of Office for Mac has Power Point.
Even the Open Source/Linux office "suites" can read it.

Powerpoint should be taken out and shot. It's almost always about creating visuals when no visuals are needed.
I do maintain a spreadsheet that I give to any new doc but it's just a summation of labwork and the like and I give them a printout, not a flash drive.
Well, it beats having to pullllll each little history item from a patient who has trouble summarizing what they had for lunch.

In fairness, I was on pills that disrupted my cognitive function and I had to walk into my doctor's office with a list of the symptoms I and my friends had noticed because I couldn't be counted on to remember them.
