Taking requests

Mrs. Znot: "I brought my head MRI films. It was done yesterday, and I want you to show me something."

(hands me a DVD)

Dr. Grumpy: (loading disk in computer): "Sure. What are you wondering about?"

Mrs. Znot (pulls out plastic baggie with disgusting little green slimy object): "This."

Dr. Grumpy: "Uh... That's..."

Mrs. Znot: "It's a huge booger..."

Dr. Grumpy: "Yes, I can see that."

Mrs. Znot: "... and I blew it out of my nose about an hour after the MRI, so can you show it to me in the pictures?"

No, but I'm sure you could recommend her to a good psychiatrist.

There should be a rule posted in doctors' offices that states: Ziplock baggies must be left outside.

That is brilliant. Does snot show up on MRI?

Grumpy, M.D. said...

I think it would have to be a REALLY big booger.

For the first time since reading your blog, I had a momentary thought of he has to make this stuff up.

Kate will back me up. Read her.

Ask her if she believes in the Matrix.

Should have told her that she blew out part of her brain...

I think I may have just thrown up in my mouth (just a little though)? Do you think my GI doctor can show me where that came from tomorrow when we go over some (what I am expecting to be) sucky results tomorrow?

PS. When Mr.Porn aka Charlie Sheen coming for his consultation. Since you get crazy, he has to be in your schedule soon. Good Lord!

Look! Someone who is crazier than I.

Oh dear.

I don't usually discuss that type of crazy with my regular doctors though- I reserve that for a therapist.

You too can become a CPA through Phoenix University, it is not too late for a career change.....

Or you can learn to say: There, right there, see it, no not that ...that.

I really try to have responses scripted as I get older.

Gee whiz! And here I was thinking you were a neurologist as opposed to an ENT! Whatever was I thinking!! Oh wait...

"It's that part of your brain right there."

Lars said...

Why not bag it again, label it and send it to the pathologist?

>> Return to sender, diagnosis: batshit crazy.

I think it was actually the part of her brain that controls judgment.

I would love to see a comment like "large contrast enhancing booger in the frontal sinus on T1 imaging with FLARE accumulation in the maxillary sinuses surrounding T1 contrast enhancing large glob of snot"

It's the lobe of her brain that controls socially acceptable behavior, but it is extremely atrophied.

I vote that she blew out the cerebral cortex. that could be the only explanation as to the bizarre behavior. The hemispheres are no longer communicating. ;-)

That's hilarious!!! With all of your education and experience, I have to say that the thing I admire most if your ability to burst into hysterical laughter right there in the exam room. I shall never play poker with a physician.

Oh man....you're making this up!

I would have to say at least it wasn't stomach contents or a stool sample.

So snot is magnetic after all????

Grumpy, M.D. said...

I don't think so. Whenever I blow my nose it goes south, not north. Unless I'm hanging upside-down.

OMG are you sure there was a brain on that MRI??? YUCK

did she throw it out or take it home with her?...but then I really do not want to know. :(
