"Doctor, our migraine medication is one of the fastest-acting pills in its class. It often starts working within 30 minutes, allowing for fast relief with an oral formulation. Wouldn't your patients like to have some fast oral relief?"
Annie kicked me under the counter to keep me from saying something I'd regret.

Oh, Annie, but it would have been SO much fun to hear what he said! Heck, I'm imagining several possibilities, but I'm sure you'd have come up with something even better.
Let him talk Annie, let him talk! LOL
That's what she said... ;-)
Oh dear. But, I don't think you'd have regretted it at all.
I hope you pay Annie well... the woman rocks.
I'd like that Rep's number. I know someone who would enjoy some fast oral relief.
I have to agree with Amanda. Annie deserves a raise!
That's a heck of a sales pitch. Who WOULDN'T want fast oral relief?
Tell me about it. I'm just lucky I had a copy of "Neurology Today" handy to cover myself with.
Fast oral relief? I'll take 2 please.
FAIL!
LD50 Rat
You should have asked for a demo!
You guys assume she didn't realize that she just made a double entendre.
She's a pretty girl with at least a bachelor's degree...that 'fast oral relief' line has probably worked really well in the past... SOLD!!!!
That's up there with the "those are the biggest balls I've ever seen" story.
At least she didn't say, "Oral head relief" or something.
No doubt it works, but it's so shameless, a perfect extension of the shameless Big Pharma.
"me too" Beta Blocker?
oh, I also wonder what her pitch line to female docs is... since the double entendre of promising a blowjob wouldn't work as well.
somewhere you can add "over the counter" to a response with this, haha.
Even with a kick my husband still could not have kept his mouth shut. Annie Rocks and you have incredible self-control. (even if you did faux paus with the principal)
Great--the drug reps offer the neurologists oral relief, but us primary care guys can't even get a #$&! pen!
We don't get the pens, either.
By the way, gang, this actually happened overseas- recently.
In Italy several months ago there was a scandal where drug reps were bribing doctors and pharmacists with prostitutes (Columbian prositutes to be specific).
I think the story was in the pharmatimes. You can likely Google it.
Dr. Grumpy,
Now that you don't get free pens anymore, what kind of pens are you using? I adored those pharma pens.
Papermates.
Fast oral relief?! I don't have the patience for 30 minutes. How's about something sublingual in the 3-minute range?
Well, sure, but not while they have migraines....and what about risk of abuse?
Bribing with prostitutes?
Sounds like our California legislators' relationship with certain lobbyists.
I'm sure she knew exactly what she was saying and threw in a cute little smile after the line.
I hate that drug companies think they can get my attention by throwing some model drug rep at me. Of course, it does catch my attention, but I am so insulted at these companies advertising with young women's bodies that I avoid prescribing whatever they are plugging.
There was one that used to come by my office the nurses called Barbie. I seriously think she had some sort of cosmetic adjustments to look like the doll. Sad!
Are you sure she didn't say aural relief? She may have had a pleasant story to tell you! ;-D
On the other hand, there is a lot to be said for slow oral relief, also.
This would be a cute way for a drug company to advertise time release pharmaceuticals. (ba-ding!)
Right now the only oral relief I need, is from my toothache. I have swelled up like a chipmunk.
Thirty minutes is SLOW, for migraine relief.

My insurance doesn't want to pay for quick oral relief. Does she give samples?
I am sorry, but 30 minutes is not fast oral relief. I would call that a marathon.
LOL! Years ago I was a drug rep. Hated it. I was an ex army officer who drank the kool aid and thought you all really wanted me there explaining why Zyrtec was soooo much better than Claritan!
The sexy Cipro chick could not tell the difference between gram positive bacteria and a grandpa in the back of the cafeteria - but she whipped my ass every month... Either Zithromax's once a day for fewer days script, fewer side effects and more indications simply did not meet that doctors high clincial standards or she was working magic I was not equipped to conjure!
Thanks for the memories...!
"Oh hells yeah!"
