No not that one, you know , the other one. You are getting warmer.
Perhaps it might be better to ask:
What are your complaints today, what are you problems, why are you here. And then ask , does anyone in your family have similar issues.
Is it right to wish a Happy Passover, if so Happy Passover
Oh yeaaa that one disease were you get reaaaally sick....
...but she took that medicine...the white pill...and it cured her!
Pattie, RN
And you, of course, knew exactly what she meant, right?
I bet it's Lupus.
Greg
!! it's never Lupis!
Kay
"But she always seems to have it whenever I call or drop by or invite her over."
Of course. It's the one where the patient is just sick, and there no other notable distinguishing signs nor a more detailed complaint. So it's fibro, right?
You're right, it's not lupus. It's TB. When in doubt, TB.
Packer, why so snarky?? We presume that Dr. Grumpy is not going to write verbatim his entire conversation, and this is just a snippet that likely occurred after the relevant personal history had been taken.
Packer, I don't think asking about "similar" issues is necessarily going to get you the information you need. What might be medically related and relevant won't necessarily be similar in the mind of the patient. TLE and migraines are probably connected and tend to run in the same families, but they have different sets of symptoms. HSP and Hashimoto's might not seem "similar," but they're both autoimmune.
That's why IMO (IANAD, just a patient with a lot of stuff going on) it's important to get a full personal and family history and then try to see which pieces fit together. Dr. Grumpy will surely correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.
I'm sure just hearing that made you sick. So I guess it's a contagious mystery disease.
Oh, I think I've had that one!
