okay - Rachel gets a gold star.. but

patients will start thinking along lines of "metformin lets me eat more cookies, GS or otherwise", and not to treat DM.

can 'statin add in hot dog aisle be far behind.....???

...only in America.....

My PCP put me on that stuff to manage my PCOS symptoms, and holy hell in a handbasket I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I eventually told doc no way... What it did to my digestive system was a crime. I spent more time in the bathroom during the day than I did at my desk. It was annoying too because every time I went in for a procedure, I'd have to explain that NOOooo, I don't have diabetes... and then I'd have to look at that dubious smirk on the face of the person asking me. ::oy:: I'd rather have no ovaries than to have to suffer through the indignities of that drug again.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I love it.

Double plus funny if you're like me and get really bad, er, gastrointestinal side-effects from metformin. "Free Bulemia Help! Now eat your cookies with reduced blood sugar AND free laxative effect!"

Just kill me now.

I'm so with you, Moose!!

Saw article indicating off label use for cancer treatment. Yup ,saw it yesterday in the newspaper. Might be of some interest to you folks to look for that article, says people who take this med are markedly less likely to contract certain cancers. I am not making this up, really.

oh America. instead of "got milk?" it's now "got diabetes?" Next up, Prilosec and coffee? SSRI's in the ice cream aisle? any other good (bad) pairings you can think of?
