How do you keep a straight face? I would either crack up or look at them like the ignorant idiots they are and ask, "Really, how do you figure since you are quite alive?"
That reminds me of a patient I had at the pharmacy a while back. He came to the pharmacy counter and asked if there had been a prescription called in for him from his doctor. He said "My doctor was going to call me in some cyanide with 5 refills." To which I replied "your doctor didn't call you in anything and if he did call in that cyanide I guarantee you that you wouldn't need those refills!" LOL
LOL, I guess that forensic MD put all those parts back pretty well!..and i agree about House, and any medical show for that matter. Unless its a documentary, its all fluff.
... Well ... a patient does wake up on the autopsy table in one episode of House http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brave_Heart . Turns out he wasn't quite dead.

I'll help you out Grumpy.
Man I hope it isn't Hashimoto's Encelo... forgot how its spelled, that one should be on HOUSE.
Do Dotors watch HOUSE ?
Not this one. But I hate medical shows. Why should I go home and watch doctors, when I do that all day?

house is a particularly absurd and offensive waste of time.
Scrubs is the best show, IMHO, for depicting doctors.
So what did he really mean?
I'd would have been tempted to ask if he had ever survived decapitation just to see if he said yes
"Funny thing, the pathologist got struck off shortly afterwards."

Wow - so you have patients who are ghosts now. Thats a medical show all in itself...
I don't know whether I should laugh or be shocked!
obviously found a dead space instead of a brain!

@Packer - House is a lightweight. I quit watching because I usually made the diagnosis before the second commercial break.
SNORT!!!!!!!!!!!
What could he have meant, though?
"Why should I go home and watch doctors, when I do that all day?"
I thought you saw patients during the day.. -.-
terri c, he probably meant a biopsy.
I know neurologists don't usually undress their patients, but did you check for the "Y" incision?
I was dead and I got better! (in the Monty Python voice).
Hahahahaha oh that one made me snort!
