Mr. Tangle: "It's the same, doc."
Mrs. Tangle: "HEY! I have a mouth, too, Ed! Don't answer questions for me! He asked me!"
Mr. Tangle: "I'm sorry."
Dr. Grumpy: "Okay, let me try this again. MRS. TANGLE, how has your memory been?"
Mrs. Tangle: "It's the same, doc".

I'm gonna agree with Mrs. Tangle, a couple doesn't need a spokesperson.
Had a woman and her son in the office about a car accident, she did the talking while I filled out a report. When I asked to see her license she told her kid to give me his. Turned out she wasn't even there when he had his crash.
I don't know how weird that is. If someone asked me a question I was perfectly capable of answering and my husband answered for me, I'd be pissed, too.
While there wasn't any need on your part for her to repeat it herself, it is best to get a history from the person themselves.
Must have been annoying for her to be answered for.
But they did go off to work as greeters at Walmart hand in hand right ? And husbands of long duration wonder why their wives "all of a sudden" want a divorce.
