Fun with EMR

I went to look up a patient's blood pressure trend at the hospital, but only found this:

People's lives depend on this, too. Don't that just make ya feel good?

Same hospital as your last post? Somehow I am thinking I may have hastily judged the 30 year old on the elevator you spoke of.

As a former medical transciptionist, that just makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over, as you can imagine. So glad we were drummed out of the field to make room for EMRs. (No, not bitter, why do you ask?)

Sadly not surprised.

On same wavelength as Packer. Hospital says vitals not necessary, Google says they are. I'm with Google. Heh.

I think Officer Cynical won the thread today lol

I'm 56 years old, full of vitality, and never been configured. I'm looking forward to it.

Try horoscope, enneagram, or MBTI type.

I read a most interesting article the other day about how Electronic Medical Records have over-promised and under-delivered, particularly because the systems are clunky to use, are not compatible with each other and were mostly designed without input from medical experts. In other words, here's another fine mess we have gotten ourselves into.

But even so, every time you look something up on the hospital computer system for the next six months, you're going to see an ad for Vitals.

From the trenches of an EMR install...

You didn't license that module.

As another former MT who was drummed out of the field in favor of EMR, I see things like this and I cringe. No, I'm not bitter (sarcasm).
