Fax machine fun

Dear Dr. Talus,

I'm sorry your patient's cheapshit insurance doesn't cover podiatrists.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to start doing foot surgery.

I'm a neurologist. So please stop sending referrals like this to me.

Thank you,

Ibee Grumpy, M.D.

Is there a podiatrist that shares your last name? I know we have about 25 Patels in various specialties at my hospital and people get mixed up all the time.

No.

They are covering their bases, Head to Toe...maybe they heard the word Neuroma and thought Neurologist?

Bunions have nothing to do with neuromas. Besides, that isn't even a proper diagnosis - no wonder insurance isn't reimbursing them... :/

Maybe they have an alphabetical list of specialist (by name) and you are just before or after the podiatrist?

I don't know, Grump. If you could use a new influx of business maybe you ought to think about this one. I'm no doctor (you have to go to school or something like that), but I'm thinking that there can't be that much difference between brains and feet. Look at politicians and the stuff they do!

I could kind of see an ad campaign - Doctor Grumpy! The top and bottom of medical science in one convenient location. Ask about our two-fer Tuesday special - two feet for the price of one.

Hey, just call me crazy but I'm thinking there's a real breakthrough here.

Mad Jack is onto something.
Perhaps you could interview people about their feelings of being ostracized because of their big feet, encourage them to feel better about themselves and relax more, thus relieving their bunion pains!

You guys are just reading it wrong. It very clearly says poubion as the reason for referral. The definition is:The union operator that combines the two inputs into a single stream. It's obviously something neurlogical!!!
