So its not so much the "artisan" part that ticks me off as much as every place has a chipotle something or other (I will say the restaurant chain by the same name not half bad, but I don't want to be bombarded with it everywhere else)

Do you realize that one of your blog ads today is for a PI attorney??

My father was an artist. If the liver disease hadn't killed him faster, all this artisanal crap would have. He used to have a hissy fit every time he saw or heard the word used that way. He would cross the word out of magazines. Really.

I have decided to start practicing artisan inspired emergency medicine. Don't worry Dr. Grumpy I will still call neuro foracute strokes, but you will arrive to find the patient delightfully treated with a unique blend of fire roasted medications instead of the usual labetolol and TPA.

Laughing out loud like a loon! Just when you think they can't possibly use the word on anything else, it pops up on tortilla chips...........hahahaha.

Dare I ask, but what's going to happen if diet coke becomes artisanal as well???

Heh, heh, heh! Saw a commercial the other day for Olive Garden featuring some "artisinal" something or other, then I read about artisinal pizzas in the NYT this morning - each made me think of you.

I'm not understanding how mass-produced or chain anything can be artisinal??

According to Google, the word "artisan" signals that a product was hand crafted, and these products frequently utilize traditional or indigenous methods.

Haha, false advertising?

I did find Artisan Popsicles today.

I love how the packaging has muted, soft colors as well, to somehow make you think the artisanal crap is healthy for you. ;-)

I do believe that seeing and hearing the word "artisan" has become your proverbial "nails scratching the chalkboard."

Humph. But not everything advertised as artisinal, isn't. Consider: http://www.artisanalpencilsharpening.com/

Another advertiser trying to convince you that some mass-produced product was made just for you!

Thank god they didn't write "Chipolte"!
