Mr. 12A: "No."
Lady 12A: "Your mom had diabetes."
Mr. 12A: "Is that major?"
Lady 12A: "I think it's major."
Mr. 12A: "I don't."
Lady 12A: "What do you consider major?"
Mr. 12A: "Where did you go to medical school?"
A Blog detailing the insanity of my medical practice and the stupidity of everyday life.

Lady 12 A: The Dr. Oz show.
Does Mr 12A know the meaning of "denial"?
Sounds like my MIL who has diabetes. She feels like she does not have to do anything to control her disease since she can "shoot up" (insulin) just prior to consuming a slice of cake as big as her head. Yep, shot = cure/not a problem in her mind.
My father recently failed to mention to his hospitalist that he had a meningioma that was affecting his balance and causing him weakness on his right side, and that he was about to undergo gamma knife treatment for it. To him, it was not a "major" condition and "why does he (hospitalist) need to know when he is not treating me for it?" (he was in the hospital for acute pancreatitis and hepatitis).
@Gloria
Denial is that big river in Egypt. Dr. Grumpy isn't in Egypt. What's the river got to do with anything?
If she'd gone to XX Medical School i.e. Cracker Jacks, it might not have been considered 'major'.
Nah, I bet she's on a first name basis with Dr. Google.
