Food ads you don't see everyday

This was in a "healthy eating" type magazine that showed up in the office one day.

My 2 year old is allergic to milk and LOVES Hemp milk. It comes in an awesome tie dye box too...

Cool! Like, wow, man!

Hunh? Oh, sorry, had a flashback to the 70s there for a second...

Who regulates it--the FDA or the DEA?

I lived next to a heavily pot-smoking neighbor at the time and suddenly in late spring, up popped a pointed lobe-leaved seedling. Considering that at night the neighbor would indulge on her back porch which was next to the planting, I was a smidge worried that perhaps she'd rolled her own on the back porch.

Prior to doing anything else, I looked it up on Google. Happily it wasn't - it was the first bits of cleome I'd seeded there beginning to pop through. The difference appeared to only be that the leaf edges weren't serrated on the cleome. The hubby and I still laugh about our volunteer flowering pot.

But yeah, that would certainly work for attention-getting advertising. Hemp is awesome but it's still a close look to its sister/cousin, MJ.

Of course they put "THC free" in the fine print and you don't notice it until two hours later when you're wondering why all those sitcoms haven't turned funny yet. Jerks.

But can you operate heavy machinery after eating?

Whoa, I this (or a similar product of a different brand) in a health food store just the other day.

Can't help but wonder what it might taste like. My initial thought is, "Not good."

(Verification word: "seewompa"
Sounds like part of an advertising campaign for psilocybin cereal..."See wompa, and a whole lot more!")

You see stuff like that all the time in my part of the world.

I have a love/hate relationship with hemp. I love the usefulness of the plant- rope, paper, fabric, medicine, and apparently protein. All of that comes from a non-psychedelic variant of hemp. It's an awesome plant with many great uses. I hate what smoking the psychedelic hemp does to people's minds- all the hype that it's basically harmless is a lie. I know, I could tell stories. I never smoked it myself but I lived years and years with a person that did smoke it heavily (at least twice a day, every day.) Smoking it can bring on throat and lung cancer, too- people seem to forget that.

Love the ad. I've eaten something called hemp hearts, which is the fatty part of the hemp seed, I think. Very filling and extremely nutritous. Tastes innocuous, actually. I didn't notice any questionable effects on my brain either.

I imagine there'd be a tendency to crave "real foods" after a little of this, too. Real potato chips, real Pop-tarts, real pineapple pizza . . . you get the idea.
