Also in her eyes and ears and mouth and nose?
Were you singing the song in your head as she spoke those words? I sure would have been.
that song is the pain. Dang it, now I have it!
Song? what song?
*coughs delicately* The timing on this is perfect. Newly recovered from a bout of backassinosis, (ie: my sacral area went on full attack, and induced muscles to spasm seemingly unendingly,) the pain indeed, was everywhere.
Thankfully though, I am *not* the Mrs. Mom referenced here, as I sought out chrio rather than neuro ;)
SBG23 has no children I see..head shoulders knees and toes, head shoulders knees and toes..and eyes and ears and mouth and nose, head shoulders knees and toes..knees and toes. You're welcome for the ear worm.
Head, shoulders, knees, and toes!
SBG23, just search for " head shoulders knees and toes" on YouTube and you can hear the earworm-inducing tune.
SBG23 - here's a link to the song

Perhaps some sort of physical therapy is required, such as a regimen of putting her various body parts in, putting them out, putting them in, and shaking them all about.
Head and shoulders knees and toes, knees and toes, knees and toes. Head and shoulders knees and toes eyes and mouth ears and noooooosssse. A classic.
I never heard that song as a kid. Matter of fact, I never heard it until this video went viral 5 yrs ago (which would have made me around 40) -

(Animated version of the song as if it were done by U2, with "guests" playing along. It's hysterical.)
Now I am not going to be able to get that song out of my head!
How do you think I feel?
did she have a broken finger?
Just don't go home and start humming it in front of your kids!
Grew up French. Had never heard the song. Priceless what I'm learning from your blog in my later years. I read you every 5 days. Those 5 posts, at a time, put me in a good mood for the week. They help me to bear with the aches and pain of my old bones. Laughter is truly the best pill one can take. Your name is at the top of my list of medications. My family doctor just giggled when he saw that. We love you, Dr. Grumpy.
This is the song I thought of as a youngster ... warning explicit lyrics

Best part of all: "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" is set to the tune of an old song about being abandoned by your drunken sack-of-shit of a husband.
Mothers are allowed phantom pain syndromes. We get them from the kids.
Did she touch each body part with both hands as she named them? lol If she did a serious version of the dance that went with the song I don't think I could keep a straight face haha
@The Mother, best treated with a nice hot bath with a locked bathroom door!
@C - don't forget the babysitter and a bottle of wine.
SBG.... says... my only children have 4 legs... they speak, but only when I tell them to. No singing...I choose to remain blissfully unaware of childrens songs so I will not go to youtube. I hated kids when I was a kid... I sure don't want to know/be around them now.
fond memory: I was referee for a high school volleyball match. During the between-game time-out, several young men in the stands started to sing: the theme from Gilligan's Island, the theme from the Brady Bunch, such like. I was able to keep my cool through several of them, but lost it when they started to sing "head, shoulders, knees & toes" along with appropriate body movements. TOO FUNNY.
