New Olympic Sport

When I got home today all 3 kids were playing Wii "Dance Dance Revolution" on a difficult setting to a fast song. They each were on a dance mat, and were wildly trying to keep up.

I thought it looked like a new sport for the Neurology Olympics: Synchronized Seizing.

Nah, you should see little tykes on the drums playing Rock Band, they go nuts and you worry someone's eye is going to be taken out.

That's hilarious - now I'm going to have to try it. That wii is highly amusing, and quite perceptive - mine frequently tells me I'm unbalanced.

So, Dr Grumpy, did you join in the fun? Or just sipped away on Diet Coke? mmmmm

I assume that there are a bunch of ANTI-seizure drugs out there, but suppose you were an Olympic athlete entering this event and you wanted to improve your performance by doping- what would you take?

Sounds like this is where Marie learned to dance . . . .

Wii boxing is good for making uncoordinated children look like a seizing flamingo.

Maybe the mom too. ;)

We do that in the ER by lining up a couple of fibromyalgia/borderline personality disorder/chronic pain patients and watch them pseudoseize for attention in perfect synchrony.

I had a patient check in today, said "I have been diagnosed with pseudoseizures, and am out of my medicine." I wasn't sure if I could keep a straight face while I asked what medicine she had been prescribed for pseudoseizures. Vicodin, of course. According to her.
