The script mill down the street is openingly weeping. There goes 50% of their business.
I don't understand the whole Vicodan/Percocet need anyway. The stuff never worked for me any better than 50mg of Benadryl.
How much relief is "this is the good stuff" compared to the pill actually doing anything?

A Black Box Warning isn't going to do much anyways. It's not the prescriber that's the problem!
There is always Vicoprofen, Percodan, whatever-the-hell the new oxy/ibu is called, etc. the RX mill will be just fine.

Banning cigarettes and supersized fries would save a lot more lives I imagine...
Beloved Parrot, it's high time House faced up to the fact that he's psychically and psychologically addicted to vicodin! I am p.oed because they are taking co-proximal off the market in the UK. I've tried what are supposed be replacements for it, and I'm either allergic to them or they don't work. I now have it as a "named patient" - until it runs out..Oh good.
Sure it sounds like a great idea that people have the option to turn to Hydrocodone/Ibuprofen products. Just wait until your patient on warfarin tries it or someone who has a history of a gastric ulcer wants some pain relief. ;)
Anyone ever seen the aftermath of an acetaminophen overdose? not pretty...liver transplant..dialysis...it happens... A LOT
It killed a patient when my friend began nursing - three weeks after the overdose, and he no longer wanted to die, but desperately wanted to live. He was about 21 and my friend was 18. She gave up nursing as a dirct result of that case.
