What this means is that they used to smoke, but that what they were smoking in the early 90s wasn't tobacco.
And of course they didn't inhale - maybe this patient is Bill Clinton?
Is there a statute of limitations on substance use reporting?
They must use the same questionaire and software that our local hospital does. I chewed tobacco and quit 27 years ago. The questions on the form are worded such that this same notation always shows up on my chart.
