Looks kinda overweight to me. What does the dog weigh?

Yeah, no kidding, that dog is a porker. Start feeding it less!

Looks insufficiently relaxed in the second photo.

She's lost 15 pounds since we got her, and the picture was taken 6 months ago. She looks a lot better now.

Good for you. My aunt and uncle have a fat lab that can barely make it up the stairs, and they made him fat. Then he lost 30 pounds, and was still too fat to waddle up the stairs and they stopped his diet for reasons unknown. I'm waiting for their dog to explode.

well, are you going to open up the tub and let her take a soak? she's a lab or lab mix, her joints are probably killing her!

Good. I was trying to find a way to nicely say that she's a bit over 'pet weight' here... Most folks don't keep their dogs in true fit weight, and that's okay. An extra 5-10% won't negatively impact a normal dog (you start talking about hip dysplasia and that changes...

She looks like a real sweetie! Nice smile!

Wow, either you have one anonymous asshole who gets off posting multiple times (the only kind of multiple he or she will get today, I'm sure) or everyone with that name is an asshole.

There are a lot of reasons for a dog to be overweight, including limited mobility, age, metabolic problems... and how is it anyone's business?

Jesus.

I thought it was funny. Dog on hot tub.

And although my dog was a black Lab, the photos made me miss her.

Thanks for the smiles this morning.

Your dog looks nice, my dog is trying to kill me. Yesterday 6AM, 2 mile walk 15 degrees, 10AM 3 miles in the woods 32 degrees, 6PM 2 more miles. Monday morning--I am dead. My dog tells me I look overweight , need to exercise more and eat less.

I just noticed Cooper is missing from the "Cast of Characters" section, where is he?

We lost Cooper last October to sarcoma.

sorry about that :(

My dogs are overweight so I make my husband take them to the vet for their annuals because I don't want to discuss it.

What a sweetie. Love that contemplative look. My (my son's) 11-year old little spitz-type has had a busy time of it over the past decade keeping her humans in line. Sorry to hear about Cooper's death.

My dog has fibrosarcoma. She's lived with it for 2 years, and will happily run for miles. She's incredibly lucky, we had a good oncologist and her tumor is responsive to chemo. She'll be on chemo the rest of her life, and she's hitting her third birthday in just over 2 months.

She's on something called metronomic or low-dose chemotherapy, which is low dose chemo and an NSAID daily. Very few chemo side effects. The first one caused hemorrhagic cystitis after about 7 or 8 months, she was switched to another chemo that doesn't work as well, and her tumor is still small. It was softball sized when it was removed partially, regrew to a mango, went away to "too small to biopsy" in 2 weeks on chemo. It's blown everyone's minds (meaning the oncologists and ours) that it has worked so well. We're much poorer, as it's not cheap, but she's happy and healthy.
