I laughed at this, but I also kind of think it might be diagnostically relevant. Maybe the patient is referencing the lead up to or down from having a migraine, when the pain is gone but you can still feel some of the ancillary symptoms like pressure or disorientation.

That said, yeah, not specific and definitely chuckle-worthy.

I assume the patient meant migraines without the associated pain? Which I used to assume was not possible until I lost half of my field of vision in both eyes one day, and the opthalmologist who saw me on an emergency basis told me that it was just a migraine with aura, even though my head felt just fine.

"Sometimes I'll have a headache that I'm not using, and I'll keep it in my desk drawer."

Maybe it's like one of those headaches you have when you're so busy doing something else, that you don't feel it until you're not busy anymore. And, then, you realize you've just had the most horrendous subclinical headache in the world, but thankfully, it's time to go home and forget about it.

Stress headache that never goes away. I do this self hypnosis relaxation routine at bed time and I can then feel it ease and go away, and before I wasn't even aware of it.

That helps greatly as does the 2secret aspirin2 that I take .

Could this be termed a prodromal symptom? Possibly anything like an aura preceding a migraine or seizure?

Although what the patient said didn't totally make sense, I can actually relate. There were times when I was having such frequent headaches, that even during pain-free times I was anticipating one. I either felt 'hungover' from the last one, or anxious about the next one. Thank goodness I am much better now thanks to the right prevention meds.

My headaches have headaches, so give me the percogesioxymorphin. You know, the stuff that starts with an D. Because my pain is a 12.
