I wish I could say that conversation hasn't happened at least 50 times in my lifetime, but it has.

How appropriate! I am finding that patients don't like the procedures I'm doing in a clinic, so they're requesting extra meds we don't administer (and can't due to equipment needs and regulations), "'cause I do better with them than without."

Now I am all too curious as to what kind of "volunteer work" the grandson is doing at the hospital.
There is a reason why hospitals are underutilized (buzz word of the year) underutilization--which as the Doc. will tell you means that patients are just refusing to go to hospitals ---and I think it is because they have people off the street reading test results.
To be fair, if the results came with the lab normal ranges printed alongside, he may have just checked that all the results fell within the normal ranges for the lab. It doesn't take a doctor to do that. Of course, it doesn't mean there is nothing to be learnt from the findings, when considered together rather than individually, either.
Hey, did you get her grandson's number? I need a biopsy.
