"I don't want to take a pill just to take it. Because I'll be "taking it" taking it, when I'm not sure I need to take it. But if I have to "take it" take it, then I'll have to take it and will take it. But only if I really have to "take it" take it.

I just can't take it

I think maybe he's talking about having to take the pill every day, even when he feels like he doesn't need it.
Maybe doctor handwriting is revenge for patient incoherance?
Glad we cleared that up doc.
And here I've been "taking" taking my pills all along, when I only actually need to take them! WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE!
Ow! That made my brain hurt!
I think they badly communicated that they only wanted a prescription if it was absolutely necessary. I have had doctors that say, "well, this isn't necessary, but you can do this/take this if it'll make you feel better." I think your patient just wanted to make sure that they were fine with not taking something if it would clear up on its own. I have heard of doctors prescribing antiobiotics for viruses so the patient feels like the doctor did something. I don't know how true this is.
I reckon that Anon @ 10:12 has it right, and I figure that Dr Grumpy understood what was being said. The frightening thing is that I understood this patient's meaning.
Easy to dance to, so so lyrics.
Heard it on 404 WAMB FM this moring, The Bieb still has it.
Arghhhhh! I can't take it anymore!
Maybe he could just take it ironically?
That totally made my head hurt.
Maybe I need a pill....
I'm mad as hell and just can't take it anymore, unless I have to take it. But then I won't have to like to take it and I will be mad as hell because I took it.
Another vote that Anon@10:12 got it right.
What's weird is I understood that.
Well, if he doesn't take it, that's the only way his hair will stop from turning blue, and it's up to him if he does or does not mind blue hair, but personally, if he really had to take it, take it, the blue hair might be back in style with the Dippity Do girls. He still has a choice, but the real question is does he want the pink curler bonnet to go with it. Foam pink curlers in public is strictly anti-social psychopathic.
Isn't there a pill your patient can take for that?
