No kidding

This is a drug ad I saw in a journal recently:

What makes it great is the line at the bottom:

Gotta love Oxycontin and the idiot who thought the picture of tablet was actual size!

Lovely weasel words. So unexpected, yet put there to make some whiny lawyer happy. Very funny.

Glad I'm not the only one who recognized the drug.

From what I hear, if you take one of these, you may very well feel like the pill really was that big after it starts to kick in! - Especially if your body is not used to it.

Funny. I wonder if some people are that stupid. Judging by some of your posts, my guess is... yes.

Do you have any OC's? OP's don't work for me!!! (And I can't make a profit 'cause no one's buying them!!!)

"Dr Grumpy, my old oxycontins aren't as large as the new ones I saw in the ad. How come the other doctors give out bigger oxy's than you do? Can you write me a new prescription for the really big ones?"

Okay, that one made me spew coffee.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall

If you don't know where this is from ask your parents.

White

Based on the Book Go ask Alice, not Alice in Wonderland as most people think

What do I win ? .

I should be taking pills to be able to undestand the new grumpy verifiers.

Back in the day when Pharma gave out goodies, we once got a box of cookies. The box was labeled with the Paxil logo but had this disclaimer: "Cookies do not contain Paxil".

Even better, ndenunz, I had hand lotion from Allegra, helpfully labelled "Does not contain Allegra!"

It would have been better if they'd said they were the actual size and came in suppository form only.

You mean those people in the ad AREN'T ACTUAL PATIENTS!!!

My first thought was that they were trying to tell people that oxycontil will landthem in a jail line up! Didnt realize they were trying to promote the drug.

And I thought my calcium tablets were big lol!

But my headache IS actual size...

My first thought: "...and a 10 from the Russian judge!

It's being discontinued in Ontario at the end of February!!! Woot! woot! Being replaced by OxyNeo... Not sure how much better that's gonna be, but the arguements with drug addicts will surely give me warm fuzzy feelings...

You know that you've been a pharmacist for too long when 1. You recognise the tablets straight away and 2. know the strengths purely from the colour!

Oxy. Gotta love it.

BTW, Mike, I was thinking the same song lyric. and the new verifiers do S-U-C-K

Good God. You'd think they were advertising M&M's. Everybody dig in!

@Packer

Actually the book's title "go ask alice" was based on white rabbit song by jefferson airplane which is based on alice in wonderland.

So you win nothing.
