Back in the day, I can remember prescribing nystatin pessaries for oral thrush in immunosuppressive patients, when there wasn’t a suitable lozenge type preparation. And yes, I am an old fart...

As a pharmacist, I was going to go off on ... but, thinking better of it with who knows who and why and where people do things, so my advice, if someone is unsure if the rectal product can be used somewhere else where the sun DOES shine, ask your pharmacist.

Also a pharmacist here. I have actually had people using hemorrhoid creams such as Anusol on their faces. Apparently it is used to help remove bags under the eyes, and when you consider what's actually in it, Anusol-HC could be used for many skin irritations and rashes.

A certain subset of ladies has known for years that Preparation H is wonderful for "plumping up" those pesky age-related wrinkles.

It's how to temporarily remove wrinkles. That said, Packer wins the post response award.

Preparation H is an excellent additive to dough bait or liver for catching catfish. I learned this after being horrified when cleaning out my dad's boat and finding half-used tubes of Preparation H everywhere. It was an interesting moment in life. And yes, he was not pleased that I'd thrown them away.

Thanks for the fishing tip. I get a bit of grief about the tube of KY in my mechanics' tool chest but it's a great lubricant for installing water hoses.

Anusol: that shit's expensive. A national chain pharmacy wanted to charge me over $140 for seven suppositories. It's easy enough to find hydrocortisone in much less expensive forms.
