For those of you who didn't read this post on him a few months back, I respected Paul's ability to correctly predict solutions in international disputes, and strongly backed him for the job of President/Prime Minister/Chief Goombah of Earth.
Paul was 2 1/2, which is apparently getting up there for an octopus.

International diplomacy is a young octopus' job. Very draining.
He was laid to rest in a blanket of batter, into a deep fryer. Said the funeral goers, "Remember him not for his dispute resolution skills ... but remember him as tasty, but a bit chewy".
My deepest sympathy. Does Ed know?
I love your blog, Dr. Grumpy. I'm a long-time lurker.

Yes, I heard on the radio this morning Paul died of natural causes.
Noooo! _Now_ how will I win the Powerball?
It's a conspiracy...He was assassinated... You can see something going on just behind the coral knoll....
Well now that's just sad...rest in peace, Paul
This is the saddest I've felt about any political figure :(

Octopus? I thought he was a dalek. He certainly looks the part!
R.I.P. buddy. He was a better politician than any other that walks this earth. I've always said animals have way more sense than we humans. :(
One of the main German television stations just broadcasted an obituary.
And for those who wonder: Paul will be cremated and his ashes will be displayed at the SeaLife in Oberhausen, Germany.
the resumption of settlement building broke all three of his little hearts.
I thought he was great! I'm quite sad about it! (Reaches for the diazepam!)
I suspect the Uruguayans.
