Mary: "Hi, can I help you?"
Mr. Kampout: "Yeah, I have an appointment with Dr. Grumpy next week."
Mary: "Okay..."
Mr. Kampout: "Can I be seen today or tomorrow instead?"
Mary: "Let me see... No we're all filled up, but I can call you if someone cancels."
Mr. Kampout "Thank you. Can I wait here until then?"

There's more room to stretch out in the ER.
Odd, and sad.....
No problem, here's the number for room service.
"And if I get hungry, you guys serve burgers, right?"
"Is there a shower anywhere I might be able to use tomorrow? Thanks."
Can I get a pillow and blanket? ohh and the remote to the TV?
I feel like people are making fun of a very sick man.If things were different, it could be any one of us.
Not that sick. I suspect what he said wasn't what he meant.
Back in the '60's when I was growing up, you went to the doctor when you were sick. You didn't have to have an appointment (I'm not even sure they made appointments). The doctor's office had an emergency room that you'd go to if you were bleeding or something. Otherwise you'd wait until they called you. Nowadays you make an appointment at 8 am, and if you're lucky, the doctor's not already behind that early.
"Hello?? Hello??" ::bangs phone on desk:: "Does this thing work?? Hello??" ::rolls eyes::
Wow - are you giving out free concert tickets or something?
Glen, in the 60s, people only went to the doctor when they were sick. They went to their grandmother for everything else. There weren't as many people asking for appointments.
