Dieting

Ms. Healthy: "I'm planning on losing weight."

Dr. Grumpy: "Are you going to follow any type of diet?"

Ms. Healthy: "Yeah, a vegan diet, or Atkins, or paleo. Maybe vegetarian, or South Beach, or gluten-free. You know, one of those diet things. Like the Mediterranean diabetics eat."

  1. Love it. Planning to lose weight. Guess what? I'm planning to become a trillionaire! Business plan? Yeah, I'm gonna build a start-up tech company. Or create a new extremely popular froyo flavor. Or design the new must-have holiday gift item. One of those things people do to get rich.

  5. What do Type 2 Mediterranean diabetics eat anyway? So, maybe a diet of food, then ... an exercise plan, too? Maybe? Eating and exercise, go together like a horse and carriage...

  6. Anon 10:15... Eating less and exercising more? You might just be on to something. Quick, better market it before word gets out and someone steals your idea. But you'd better give it a good name... Like Mediterranean diabetic diet so people will think it's legit.

  9. She has about as much chance of success on this diet as anyone other out there.
    My all time most successful diet is the pushback diet.
    After 1 moderate size helping of everything, push yourself away from the table.

  10. I've been having success with the 80-90% restricted diet. I eat healthily and sensibly most of the time. (Lean Cuisines are totally worth the money, btw.) But once in a while, I have a treat or dessert. 7 pounds since July. (And for me, that's awesome. :p )

  13. Personally, I like the fruitfreak diet, which no one seems to know much in the us or uk.

    Basicly for snacks you only have raw fruit or veg, and drink only water. You eat 200g of raw fruit or veg and 2 glasses of water first at each meal, then only eat as much else as you are hungry for.

    If it had been said in jest, it would have been quite clever, making fun of the diet fad. But I suppose she wasn't actually joking. XD
