Saturday morning

Frank got home from his first college semester last night.

This morning, Mrs. Grumpy and I were woken from a sound sleep by screaming and loud noises.

Apparently, at around midnight, Frank couldn't sleep and set up his laptop to work. He'd forgotten the password for our home WiFi network. Instead of, say, waiting to ask someone in the morning, he just wiped the router and changed the passwords.

This morning the twins discovered what had happened, and went bananas when they couldn't get online. His door was locked, and when they couldn't wake him up, Marie and Craig kicked his door in.

Now Frank is upset we woke him up on his first day of break.

I'm taking the twins' side.

  3. Why isn't his laptop set to automatically connect to the network? All my devices connect automatically to all the places where I use wifi.

  4. I want to know who's responsible for fixing the door?

  5. Side with the twins for sure. Frank needs to be taken down a peg or two. He's playing prima donna.

  6. Wonder Twins Power -- ACTIVATE! Tell Marie and Craig that one old lady in Alabama applauds their audacity and tell Frank to Blinkin' grow up.

  7. I side with the twins too. All he had to do was put a sign on his bedroom door with the new WiFi password, and that assumes there was actually a critical need for him to have WiFi in the middle of the night, which I rather doubt.

  8. How would the twins know he's the reason they couldn't get on?

Given then situation I agree, take the twins' side.

  9. In the matter of Grumpy Twins V. Frank de Wi-Fi I must side with the energetic morning internet lovers in part but must reject the arguments of both parties in part for the ex parte interest of good doctor.

The twins were rightfully upset over no internet, obviously Frank left breadcrumbs stating it was him, and he took no one else's interests into consideration. Justified outrage and attempted to resolve the issue.

BUT - the disregard of the Grumpy elder statesman of the house need to sleep in and not be woken up was taking their self-deputized right of a 4th amendment search a bridge too far shall we say.

I think making the Twins, as well as Frank, both have to work on door repair and/or replacement as well as one morning both have to do all the morning stuff like breakfast, etc allowing the Parental Units to sleep in would be very suitable. That and changing the wi-fi back to something but not telling frank what it is for two days would let the twins feel very justified and pleased even though they have to help repair damage, they would see frank's punishment as worse and justified.

  10. Changed the password without warning anyone? Frank's lucky he still has his kneecaps.

  11. Change the password again, lock it down (physically to prevent another wipe) and leave it to the twins if/when they tell Frank the new password.
