Never tried that

"It hurts like, um, doc, you know what it feels like when you're out hiking barefoot and you accidentally step on some rusty barbed wire somebody left lying around? You've done that?"

  1. No no, it is more like when you are grilling hamburgers and you have no spatula and you have to reach under them with your hand to flip them or move them to a plate.

Nah, it like when you are fixing the electrical outlet and you put the paper clip in to make sure the power is on.

Oooh , you didn't give the guy a name, so I will call him Ted Tanus

I really appreciate starting the day with laugh, thank you.

  4. Although I've hiked *many* miles barefoot with other barefooters, we've never stepped on barbed wire! Generally, barefooters are *really* good at watching their steps.

  5. Oy vey. I wouldn't necessarily say that happened when I was hiking. And, I've done my fair share of hiking.

  10. Well, I have never stepped on barbed wire, but I still have the scar on my knee from over 50 years ago, trying to climb over a barbed wire fence and got hooked on it and needed help getting down.

And there was the time when I was barefoot on a small boat, jumped into 4 inches of water.. onto a two inch piece of cutoff sign post and sliced my heel open (the day before I started a new job too!)

  11. When I was a kid I did have that happen, but I wasn't hiking, I was playing in the backyard. Our house was built on what was previously farm fields and it was half-buried in the yard. It was not a great experience.
