Very basic is coffee and a Danish. You doctors are SPOILED! You would not believe what the cheap doctors/PAs carry out of our lounge. They act like it's the end of the month and they are out of food stamps.
But, if the latest stuff in the news is to be believed, the bacon, eggs, and sausage aren't the problem. It's the potatoes and biscuit. Maybe that's why they apparently only have one biscuit.
Apparently in line with most other hospital cafeteria fare: http://www.medpagetoday.com/Endocrinology/GeneralEndocrinology/47784
Going to see the IRS documentary (in theaters Oct 14 @ 7 p.m. only) recommended by one of the above article's MD commentators -- see http://www.unfairmovie.com/trailers/
I do not see any elements of the DASH diet on that menu. Obviously, doctors eat at home and this is an ad for everyone else, although no gravy is mentioned at all. As is the popular menu item here in the mid-east/west 'biscuits AND GRAVY'
Up the cholesterol, up the LDL, up the triglycerides. Cardiology brings in over one third of the operating revenue of most U.S. hospitals. We MUST do our part to keep these people in business.
Where are the bagels, oatmeal, yogurt and fresh fruit though for the nonvegan vegetarians?

ReplyDeleteAll things in moderation, including bacon, eggs, and potatoes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the"cardiac" diet for patients at my old hospital. Same bacon and French toast as the regular diet. They just leave off the salt packets.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast potatoes? That's an interesting way to describe them. Why not refer to them As hashbrowns or home fries? *shrugs*

ReplyDelete"Unlimited mimosas and Bloody Marys."
