Space Oddity
Commander Chris Hadfield, the Canadian astronaut departing the ISS, posted this awesome cover today of the classic David Bowie song. Filmed, of course, on site.
That's pretty wicked - he regularly talks to the kids in the schools here - we live in his hometown and he has a school named after him. He's a pretty big deal here. Pretty interesting how they spend their time floating around eh?!
So proud of Chris Hadfield for making astronauts cool again. We need more people like him getting kids interested in science for the sake of science. He's definitely one of my heroes, and I also have a massive fangirl crush like Claire.
Freaking Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! That flying guitar was something (kept wondering it they ever took out a laptop in one of the takes...)
ReplyDeleteI have the biggest fan girl crush on Cmdr. Hadfield. Damn, he is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHey, why not MY song? What's wrong with MY song? Oh, right. Never mind.

ReplyDeleteQuite possibly the best cover ever.
ReplyDeletePerhaps he will start a new trend - space covers; next up '2000 light years from home' ? ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo totally great - thank you!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm just surprised it took so long for someone to finally do a cover from space. Glad it was Chris. He's making being Canadian cool.
ReplyDeleteHe makes being male cool.
ReplyDeleteThat was so cool of him to do that.
ReplyDeleteScientist Rocks!
ReplyDeleteOnly thing that could possibly make him cooler =
being a neurologist, too, eh?
This guy is just a pretender. He's not even a neurosurgeon. But does anyone remember me? NOOOOOO.
ReplyDeleteI forsee guitar at auction in 30 years going for 7 figures, for science education
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this! It was amazing!
