This morning I was looking through the weekend fax machine pile, and found Local Swanky Restaurant had sent over a menu for their "Valentine's Day Special."
It featured this mouth-watering item:
I think we'll just stay home. It's supposed to snow, anyway.
I have a picture somewhere of the marquee of an actual diner here in cville that had that on it. It cracks me up every time. The kids and I still say chocolate mouse when we drive by. Yes, I am still 10 in the humor department, and I don't see that ever changing.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if the cookies will have chocolate sprinkles on them???
ReplyDeleteNow, now, it could be worse. Chocolate Mouse is much more lighter and fluffier than Chocolate Moose.
ReplyDelete(Have you ever seen "A Chocolate Moose for Dinner" by the late Fred Gwynne [yes, the actor]? It's AWESOME.)
@Anon 8AM
ReplyDeleteYou tested my gag reflex, it is working just fine. Thanks. :)
But it is Ghirardelli....and it is the only place with open reservations on Valentine's Day
Is that Chocolate Mouse...artisnal?
ReplyDeleteDown where I live, they'll put anything in a gumbo...
ReplyDeleteIt's just like chocolate mousse, but there just isn't as much of it. Oh-and elephants are afraid of it!
ReplyDeleteIf you can have a chocolate bunny on Easter, why not a chocolate mouse for Valentine's Day? (Though a chocolate heart would have been more traditional!)
ReplyDeleteIf you can remember Kliban cartoons..."Love them little mousies, mousies what I love to eat, bite they little heads off, nibbles on they little feet"
ReplyDeleteHey, you can even hear it sung here!

Are they serving Ratatouille?
ReplyDeleteThey're cheating a bit. It's actually just a relabled chocolate bunny.
ReplyDeleteIs the mouse alive?
ReplyDeleteSo alive?
