Xenophobia FAIL!

Dr. Grumpy: "What were the pills?"

Mr. Skin: "I don't know. A friend brought them back from Argentina."

Dr. Grumpy: "Did you take them?"

Mr. Skin: "No, because I don't trust Mexicans."

  1. Wow. I had no idea people in Argentina were also considered Mexicans. Learn something new everyday.

  3. ...Except the 'friend' happened to be Mexican.

  4. "Besides, my mom always taught me to beware of fake pills. She said her life was ruined when she took one about nine months before I was born."

  5. That's what I thought, too.

But when I asked I found the guy was under the impression that everyone in the Western hemisphere between the Rio Grande and Antarctica is a "Mexican."

  6. That's the problem with the world today. There aren't enough educated bigots. It's a disgrace.

  7. Nobody needs to be frustrated today. It's Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day! Thanks to the 1957 discovery made by Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes we can take out our frustrations today (hell, everyday)by selecting & purchasing large quantities of Bubble Wrap! Heck, Yes!

  8. My family lived in Spain and Panama when I was a kid. When I told my sister I was going to Chile with the Peace Corps, she - who had also lived in Spain and Panama - said I would be able to get good Mexican food there.

Actually, she was right. The Taco Bell in Santiago was my favorite restaurant. Chilean food, at least on a Peace Corps volunteer budget, was not all that.

  9. I had a patient who wanted to take his own home medicines because our hospital ones weren't "pure enough." Aryan pharmaceuticals to the rescue!

  10. So if everyone south of Texas is Mexican, what does he consider everyone north of the Great Lakes? Or does he even realize there is a country to the north??

  12. I've had patients demand we not give them certain generic brands because of the alleged country of origin, mexico, china, india. Also had to shake my head at the couple of patients we have to claim no antisemitism and world peace but then go on rants about jews (or in their words, 'the JUICE!') and not wanting Teva because it is an Israeli company. Of course said same people will somehow also believe that the $5 viagra they are buying from an "online canadian" pharmacy is real and not just ground up gypsum dust and some blue paint or chalk mixed in for coloring. The stupidity of people never fails to amaze me at times.

  13. Well I can kind of see his point, the Mexicans do not have a good reputation when it comes to drugs.

  14. What bad Mexicans those people in South America have proved to be! My brother had to learn how to make his own tortillas because in Brazil, they cost more than a dollar (US dollar) for EACH tortilla! He is becoming quite the skilled and diverse chef!
