Yesterday I admitted a lady in her 50's who had a stroke. So I'm rounding on her this morning.
Mrs. LDL: "Doctor, I'm changing my whole life right now! I'm going to start being healthy. For many years I've always had a cheese omelet for breakfast. So, today, when they took patient breakfast orders, I realized I had to start doing things differently."
Dr. Grumpy: "Good for you! What did you order?"
Mrs. LDL: "A vegetable omelet, with cheese."
big change! especially with lots of cheese!
ReplyDeleteCan't say I blame her, Dr. G... an omelet is not an omelet without cheese.
ReplyDeleteThe last breakfast I ate in hospital was a cold, rock-hard scone and coffee instead of the tea I'd asked for. Yum.
You mean the veggies don't cancel out the cheese???? What?????
ReplyDeleteBTW, my word verification is unfed, appropiate don't you think?
This reminds me, my boss was diagnosed with high cholesterol and triglycerides and was advised to change his diet and eat more vegetables. So, one Monday he proudly told me he had gone to Carl's Jr and instead of ordering his burger with french fries he had ordered the fried zucchini instead. Seriously, I don't get people.
ReplyDeleteWell, Dr. G. Now might be a good time to tell her to please cut the cheese.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin....
I've been inspired by this woman's story. From now on, I will no longer order a Bacon Cheeseburger when I feel the urge for a burger. No! Instead I shall order a plain Hamburger, with lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese!
ReplyDeleteWhatever. Vegetables TOTALLY cancel out the cheese.
