When Mary makes reminder calls for the next day she notes on the schedule as to whether she confirmed the appointment with the patient, or a family member, or left them a voice mail, or whatever.
So looking over today's schedule, I saw the following entry:
"1:00 - Suzy Jones, referred for hearing problems. Phone kept ringing, no one answered."
At 5:00 on a Monday morning it gave me the giggles.
Now that's a bonafide referral!
ReplyDeleteYup, I got a chuckle out of that as I've been hearing impaired most of my life. Not quite sure why one would go to a neurologist for hearing problems.

Annie- I just see them. Someone else writes the referral.
ReplyDeleteLoL...thought I was going to need a Grumpy appointment myself...spent all day yesterday recovering from a cold and very dizzy...was miserable and kept thinking that Dr. Grumpy could make it better...think I read your blog too much? :)
ReplyDeleteJacqueline-

- Voltaire.
Isn't that kind of like sending an email to someone telling them that their network is down?
ReplyDeleteooh, you get to play with your tuning forks! i'm jealous! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI gotta think Mary did that on purpose.
