Sometimes this 'special' diagnosis of the diagnostician is called a Freudian slip, "an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of an unconscious subdued wish or internal train of thought."
I'm guessing a Dragon slip up, since thalassemia IS a blood disorder. Throw in regional accents and Dragon's notorious reputation for bad transcription, and, well.
