Reminds me of my mother. Her dementia had reached the state that she was unable to handle even simple tasks unaided, yet she did not want help. We (Dad & I) tried to explain that she just didn't remember things well anymore, she responded with and indignant "I don't remember forgetting anything!"
Fortunately, I was able to keep a straight face.
This is now a treasured quote in our family. I just hope if Mom can see us, that she can take a joke again. Or else I'm in deep do-do when I die....
The resident neurologist here came into see patients after hours which meant he was rounding at 11:00 PM sometimes. I used to see his orders and laugh when he wrote for his patients to take 'pills'. There used to be this expression about 'taking a powder', too.
It'd throw me in a tizzy with my OCD 'cause he always, wrote for anxiolytics 'PRN aggitation'. Sheez, if you're going to make your livelihood by helping straighten out those of us with noticeable anxiety, help with keeping the rest of sane!
If he were to practice 20 days in a row every day for 5 minutes, I'm sure he would get it (not that he had anything more important to do!)
So, that's the back-story of dragon's breath, or whatever that dictation machine is called.
I bet that was a fun patient.
ReplyDeleteWhere can we get some ?

Next time ask them to bring their adult daughter along - Ms. Ginkgo Biloba - maybe she can help them remember?
ReplyDeleteHope you got your fees in advance.
