That's helpful
Mr. Vague: "My dad had Alzheimer's disease. Or maybe it was Parkinson's disease. It was some kind of disease. Do you know which one I'm talking about?"
Maybe he had Alzheimer's disease and had the anterograde amnesia (do they have retrograde amnesia of memories prior to the onset of the disease or only loss of memories from since the disease began?) or Parkinson's psychosis where he thought his Dad had some sort of diease.
"Because I just took some of his leftover pills, and I'm trying to figure out whether it would be better to put on 'Dark Side of the Moon' or 'Wish You Were Here.'"
Surely you could look at the pill and tell what it is based on the color? Yes? If that fails, perhaps a crystal ball. And there is ALWAYS your "MIND POWERS" that we in the medical field are suppose to have?? No?
I was told by a patient once "I have that disease where you twitch.." "seizures?" "no." "parkinsons?" "no.... it's that DiaBETTies (gotta love the pronounciations). When my blood sugar gets real low, I twitch".
Of course I do. It was your father, on your mother's side of the family.
ReplyDeletePay attention, people. We cannot make everythinbg as simple as this.
stay safe.
Hereditary stupidity?
ReplyDelete"Or maybe it wasn't my dad and it was some other guy instead. Does that help?"

ReplyDeleteSounds like Alzheimer's is the likelier of the two...
ReplyDeleteYup, and she takes a white pill for it...
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was idiotitis - quite contagious from what I've heard :)

My adoptive father has Parkinson's affect, how does that affect me?
ReplyDeleteBwhahahaha
At least you know it was a disease. Or something.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like this patient diagnosed himself!
ReplyDeleteSo ~ did you know???
ReplyDelete;-)
perhaps lues disease
ReplyDeleteMaybe acne?
ReplyDeleteMr. Vague, your father suffers from SOS, stupid offspring syndrome, there is no cure.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is how Albert Camus got the inspiration for "The Stranger..."
ReplyDelete"Actually, I was conceived one night when my mom had a three-way with a Parkinson's patient and an Alzheimer's patient, so it could be either."
ReplyDelete"Because I just took some of his leftover pills, and I'm trying to figure out whether it would be better to put on 'Dark Side of the Moon' or 'Wish You Were Here.'"

*facepalm*
Three guesses.
ReplyDeleteIs there an ICD-9 code for Somekindadisease? It seems to be one of the more common causes of death reported in family histories.
ReplyDeleteIn your patient's case you might have been able to check out the first two by asking, "Did he remember who you were?" and "Did he shake a lot?"
Hoof and mouth disease?
