Injuries

Mrs. Neck came in for a routine follow-up today, hobbling with her left foot in a cast.

Dr. Grumpy: "Good heavens! What happened?"

Mrs. Neck: "I broke my foot."

Dr. Grumpy: "I'm sorry. How did it happen?"

Mrs. Neck: "I was unpacking after our trip, and dropped the first aid kit on it."

  1. Oh, it was a stupid accident ?

You ever drop a knife while barefoot --seems like your feet just naturally jump out of the way of the point????, time for some study to be conducted as to why that is.

  4. @CrownedwithVictory - Maybe she has one like mine. My big first aid kit, which goes camping & to music gigs out of town with us, is in a tool kit and does hurt your foot if it lands directly on it. Although it has never broken someone's foot.

i think that's not the point, the point is that the "first aid" kit was supposed to aid, not to injure, it's ironic, in case you haven't noticed...

  6. Oh I get that! It's just that most people have first aid kits that are petite or small and would barely even sting or be noticed if it fell on them.

  7. yes, I have never seen a travel size first aid kit bigger than the kindergarten pencil box type. My own first aid kit is just a bottle of Germ-x. Nothing screams "emergency" to me more than my children touching things in Walmart. :)

  8. LOL! I'm with you there!! I keep small bottles of such things in my purse! Either the flip top ones or the spray ones I can pick up at my local pharmacies (Walgreens was the first one to carry such around here).

  9. A friend of mine broke their little toe by dropping the store accident book on their foot.

  10. I broke mine with a can of tomato puree. Not anywhere near as exotic. But I didn't notice it until I was hiking up pyramids in Chichen Itza, so I think I get points.

Hubby: It's not broken. You're just being overly dramatic.

Me: More margaritas and maybe I'll get up the next one.

    Podiatrist: (Laughs hysterically)
